Havelock One Interiors trains workforce, achieves PASMA certificate
As a trusted turnkey fit-out contracting Company, Havelock One Interiors is committed to ensuring our site staff’s safety and skills development. Despite the busy schedule of fit-out projects in the UAE, a total of 14 Dubai-based workers completed their PASMA (Pre-fabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) training on-site of one of our ongoing projects, recently.
PASMA is the international not-for-profit association dedicated to protecting the safety of workers using tower equipment and mobile aluminium scaffold towers, based in the UK. By undergoing the one-day PASMA training, our workers learned how to properly erect and use mobile towers for jobs that require working at height.
“At Havelock One, we take pride in having a workforce that is well-trained, safety-conscious and efficient. By achieving the internationally recognised PASMA certificate, we are compliant with regulations for five years. This is an extra seal of assurance for our current and future customers that we manage the risk of accidents appropriately on every fit-out project we implement,” said Hesham Shedid, Health and Safety (H&S) Manager at Havelock One for fit-out projects in the UAE.
A total of 19 workers also attended an additional H&S training on general hot work procedures. This was an awareness training on the hazards of hot work activities that include welding, brazing, soldering and using blow-lamps.
“Due to the risk of explosion, fire and exposure to toxic substances, this training is considered essential in the fit-out industry. It is important that our workers always refresh their knowledge of safety procedures,” added Hesham. The UAE government requires that workers involved in hot work are trained on proper equipment operation, handling and storage of welding materials, compressed gas safety, chemical hazards and safe working procedures.
Both trainings were conducted by Bureau Link Safety Management Consultancy, an accredited PASMA training partner in the UAE.Back to Blog
